Our Story

Ibiza has an abundance of gorgeous beaches for you to choose from. One day you might go for a long sandy beach lined with buzzing beach clubs and packed with sunworshippers soaking up Balearic beats along with the sun. Another day you may prefer to leave the crowds behind and hike down fragrant shaded forest trails or scramble over rocks to a tiny cala that’s totally off the radar.

Whatever your taste in beaches, there’s something in Ibiza for you.

Because nothing beats a recommendation from a passionate local, we asked our team to suggest Ibiza’s top five beaches. Here they are, in no particular order.

Cala d’en Serra

‘Cala d’en Serra in the far north of the island is a jewel of a beach with a chill vibe. The crystal clear water is ideal for snorkeling. There’s a cool chiringuito on the beach that does delicious fresh seafood and cocktails. Cala d’en Serra is a bit of a hike but that means it never gets crowded. Still, it’s definitely not somewhere you’d take a baby buggy. But it’s absolutely worth the adventure. I suggest you make a day of it. We always do.

Aguas Blancas

‘Aguas Blancas in the north-east is really popular with locals maybe because it’s nice and remote. It’s a 300 metre long sandy beach below these beautifully coloured cliffs. If you like to go naked, it’s an official nudist beach. You can also mix seawater with the red dirt from the cliffs to make a nice paste that’s meant to be good for your skin. If you’re someone who likes to get up early, maybe to do some surfing, Aguas Blancas has some great swells is especially peaceful early in the morning.’

Niu Blau

‘I have a young family and we really love Niu Blau, in the north-east of the island a couple of kilometers away from Santa Eulalia. It’s a curving wide sandy beach that you reach by walking through a pine forest. Niu Blau is clean and safe for kids and you can treat them to a pedalo before having lunch at one of the two restaurants next to the beach. We like to stay on the beach all day before driving home with two exhausted but happy children.’

Cala Escondida

‘Cala Escondida is a very cool zero carbon emissions chiringuito at Es Racó d’Xic, one of the rocky Cala Comte coves on the west coast of the island. It’s very authentic hippy Ibiza, lovely and peaceful with an incredible sunset view. They often have proper live music on the beach which makes a change from the boom-chick boom-chick sounds of the DJs you hear all across the island. We go out further onto the rocks near Cala Escondida, just far enough away to avoid the summer madness around the Cala Comte area and remember why we’ve chosen to live on Ibiza.’

Nicole (Rentals Manager)

Las Salinas

‘Las Salinas, 10 minutes’ drive from Ibiza Town, is a long sandy beach lined with see and be seen beach clubs like the Jockey Club and Beso Beach. I much prefer to turn left, head straight past the clubs and walk along the beach with its white sand and turquoise water to good old Sa Trinxa. Many times I’ve gone to Sa Trinxa for lunch and a couple of hours on the beach and found myself hours later dancing in the dark. Actually, I also like to keep going past Sa Trinxa to this great sandy beach not so many people know about. It’s a nudist beach but there’s a bit of everything. And it’s dog-friendly, perfect for me and my dog Iana.’

Other amazing Ibiza beaches

These are our favourite beaches and we’re pretty sure you’ll love them too. But, as you know there are plenty of others to check out.

For example, we love Benirras, famous for its sunset drummers, incredible sunsets and breathtaking view of Cap Bernat, called The Hand of God by locals. You can really feel the true Ibiza spirit at Benirras.

If you’d like to go beyond Ibiza’s top five beaches and take a deep dive, read our recommendations for the whole island here.
