As we build up to Christmas, the vibe on the island for Ibiza Christmas gift ideas is very much all about buying local and sustainable gifts or inspiring island experiences and helping the less fortunate.
Here are some Ibiza Christmas gift ideas suggested by Tim and Charlie of the Charles Marlow Ibiza team that we hope will inspire you.
At the moment, these are my top two Ibiza Christmas gift ideas.
L’atelier No. 74 is a workshop space and café in Santa Gertrudis where you can buy all kinds of gorgeous products including knitwear, ceramics and home décor. You literally want to buy everything.
But L’atelier No. 74’s main purpose is to offer workshops for kids and adults where you can learn everything from pottery to dressmaking.
Sophie, my partner, is eyeing up a knitting course for the new year so she can have a go at making clothes for our baby boy but there are any number of workshops she would love as a gift.
I’m spoilt for choice.
Together for Healthcare Heroes is a brilliant charity that has emerged this year. It aims to provide free holidays in 2021, mainly in Ibiza but also elsewhere, for the healthcare professionals that are working so tirelessly during the pandemic.
Here on the island villa and hotel owners are donating accommodation. The rest of us can donate to help cover flight costs and so on. A small donation from us all or on behalf of a loved one is a worthwhile Christmas gift for a great cause.
Abi Woodward is one of the most popular practitioners on the island. I, and it seems most of the island, have received many wonderful sessions from Abi at her powerfully charged clinic in San Carlos.
Describing her work, Abi says “Chiropractic is the study of health and what makes people live well. The chiropractic adjustment naturally balances your body so it has more capacity to deal with the stress of life and how it impacts your body. Stress can be chemical, emotional, physical or mental and can have an impact on all aspects of our lives from relationships to livelihoods. It can show up in unexpected ways in our body: poor sleep, low back pain, stiffness in the neck and shoulders, brain fog or overall lethargy. The gentle styles of chiropractic I use create a friendly connection in our bodies, allowing us to tap into our cleverness and making our body a better place to be.”
To find out what Abi offers, including gift vouchers, email her at email@example.com or call +34 690196610.
If you’d like to help someone get 2021 off to an active start, I’d absolutely recommend practising with Nick Brewer of the Ibiza School of Primal Movement. Nick is an inspiring teacher with a remarkable story. For a taste of what Nick’s approach is all about read our blog post about him.
Nick’s Instagram account has plenty of practice sessions filmed when Ibiza was locked down that he’s kindly left online. To find out more about practicing with him in person, contact him via Instagram.
No matter how well any of us know Ibiza, there are always surprises tucked away. One of these is ecological finca Can Marti where you can immerse yourself in authentic rural Ibiza and deeply relax. Find out more here.
Whether you live on Ibiza, visit occasionally or have never been, Mr Pikes: The Story Behind The Legend by Tony Pike and Matt Trollope is an eyebrow-raising, thoroughly entertaining account of how Ibiza got to be IBIZA! Tony was a confidant of George Michael, Freddie Mercury, Grace Jones and many others and has outrageous stories.
As Matt Trollope writes in the introduction, Tony is the man “who bought a 500-year-old Spanish farmhouse with no electricity, running water, sanitation…or rooms – and turned it into the best rock and roll hotel in the world.”
Buy Mr Pikes from publisher MT Ink.
Next summer, be sure to visit Pikes Ibiza. Although Tony boogied off to that celestial party in the sky in 2019, the institution he created hosts some of the best DJs on the island and has its own funky boho version of the Ibiza vibe.
Happy Holidays from Tim and Charlie at Charles Marlow Ibiza!
