OH THE HORROR: HALLOWEEN 201729th October 2017

With hot sunny days still prevailing on the White Isle it’s hard to believe that summer is officially over. This reality making itself clear in the shape of cooler evenings, daily closing parties and the fact that Halloween is just around the corner. We await the grand finale, Halloween 2017 on Tuesday the 31st, a guaranteed state of horror promised by many of the islands usual suspects. In our terror and let’s not kid ourselves, excitement, we frantically search our still mostly summer lined closets for the scariest outfit yet.

I can feel Halloween getting bigger and bigger each year. A clear indication being the number of adult parties on offer but also the number of children focused activities being organized for our little terrors. My children already busy at work carving their pumpkins, decorating and stretching to the best of their ability the empty candy bags, face paint chosen and possibly already painted on, ready to experience the sugar rush of the year.

I am thinking we will try something new with the kids at the Factory Smokehouse in San Rafael where they are hosting a Spooky Smokehouse Spectacular with creepy crafts and trick or treating galore. We will also stop in at La Muella’s Halloween market to make sure their goody bags are stuffed to the brims and mostly so they can fly around at the Superhero party.

After what promises to be a full on day of madness with the kids the plan is to sneak away and slink into our sexy burlesque outfits, head into Ibiza town and meet our friends at our favorite tapas haunt, La Bodega. Fetish themed dress ups and ceviche to match, La Bodega will be hosting its’ closing party for the season on the spookiest night of the year! Though this promises to be a late one, I am planning on dragging my husband to Pikes’ horrifying haunted hotel for an even later one.

Pikes infamous Halloween party has gathered quite a reputation in the last few years and this year will have the Brother’s Grimm leading the act alongside some terrifyingly good dj’s. I plan to stay till the Fat Lady sings, till the crazy piano man plays and till I costume myself up in Sunny’s decadent boudoir until some ungodly time of the morning. Hopefully I can convince my husband to follow suite!
